Here is a
really cool idea from Northeast Ohio's Geauga Park District. If you are
in the neighborhood and you have an old telescope that needs tweaking
(and virtually all telescopes will eventually get out of alignment) stop
by and have it adjusted.
DROP-IN
TELESCOPE CLINIC
Observatory
Park astro-nats can assist your home sky-watching as well
Do you have a telescope that's
collecting dust in your attic?
Register for this opportunity to bring
it in for a tune-up!
What:
Bring In Your Telescope!
When:
Saturday, January 19 – 6 to 8 p.m.
Where:
Observatory Park, 10610 Clay Street, Montville Township
Whether you've got a 400-year-old
antique or a spiffy new model you're unsure how to use, allow Observatory
Park's astro-nats to help you clean, configure and figure out your telescope so
you can get back to home sky-watching. (Observatory Park is a Silver Tier
International Dark Sky Park, as well, so you may also find yourself using that
'scope on one of its telescope pads, which allow for electrical hook-up.)
Registration is required for this
all-ages program, which is wheelchair/stroller accessible, at http://geaugaparkdistrict.org or
440-286-9516. Call that number, too, with questions.
Geauga Park District is online at http://geaugaparkdistrict.org,
Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
